R.I.P. Sven Nykvist

Legendary cinematographer Sven Nykvist died Wednesday at age 83. His work inspired me as a young film student, and my thanks to him for photographing Texas so beautifully in "What's Eating Gilbert Grape", one of my first feature films as a location coordinator with the Texas Film Commission back in 1992.

RIP Ann Richards

We awoke this morning to the news that Governor Ann Richards had passed away. I had the privelege of working in her office from 1991-92 as a location coordinator for the Texas Film Commission. Her support for the film industry was critical at a time when Texas production was seriously growing. We will miss her.
