Welcome TJ Gonzales

San Antonio NALIP member TJ Gonzales will be attending the 2006 Latino Writers Lab in New York City next month, and will be posting entries about his experience there.

The Latino Writers Lab™ is a unique program for NALIP members who aspire to work as professional screenwriters, or who desire to develop a strong, viable screenplay for production or sale. It includes skills development by professional instructors, direct mentoring of your work-in-progress by writer/mentors, and professional lunches on legal, guild and industry information. Only 12 – 15 writers will be selected to participate in this 10-day intensive workshop, and TJ from San Antonio has been selected. The first of two 2006 five-day labs will be conducted in New York City May 3 - 7, 2006, beginning Wednesday evening with an orientation and screening.

TJ will be sending us updates from the lab as he is able (he promised to write every day).

Thanks TJ and congratulations. See you back here in SA with a polished script!

AFCI Locations: Day 2

More and more people came by the booth. Great turnout even though our state offers no financial incentives. Had a great meeting with the director of re-use for BRAC - some San Antonio facilities I didn't know about may be coming available soon.

Oh yeah, our booth won Third Place - woo-hoo!

AFCI Locations

I'm at LOCATIONS 2006, the film commission industry tradeshow in Los Angeles. We basically have all the major cities in Texas represented, and film producers, studio folks, and TV executives can walk the floor and visit with film commissioners from around the world.

More later with news from the floor.
